Hollywood Unions demand video iPod talks

Added 17-10-2005

Unions based in Hollywood that represent actors, writers and directors have demanded talks over the use of TV shows on Apple's new video iPod. Apple have signed deals with companies like ABC to sell shows like Desperate Housewife's on Apple's iTunes website. Obviously the unions want to make sure the workers they represent get a cut of the revenue generated. A range of powerful Hollywood unions have joined together to issue the demand for talks, they include,

  • Writers Guild of America (West) and (East)
  • American Federation of Television & Radio Artists
  • Screen Actors Guild
  • Directors Guild of America

The above unions have in the past ensured actors, writers and directors get a cut of revenue generated by dvd and video sales.
