iPod Accessories Market Booms
Added 01-08-2008
For every ninety pounds spent on an iPod, three pounds are spent
on accessories. The global market is in the billions, therefore,
it's of no surprise that a majority of the products are produced
in China.
To begin with the accessories market was dominated by small players;
but, as the sales volume increased for this sector, larger companies
began to take an interest. One such company is Bose, who released
their Soundock, an acclaimed docking station which retails for $399.
While accessories produced in China prices have been reduced in
2006 and 2007, the manufacturing costs are predicted to rise in
the upcoming years. Many suppliers have signed large production
quotas for 2009. While sales may be slowing in the US, growth is
expected in the EU and Asian markets.
